FAQ Lash Lift

When should I rebook my customer for a new elevator?2024-10-21T20:49:01+01:00

We generally say that an elevator should last up to 6 weeks or longer with most clients, but the lash growth cycle must be considered. If you notice your client has a lot of new lash growth, you can let them know this and recommend booking their next elevator earlier than 6 weeks – perhaps 4 weeks will fit better. Other clients may experience an extremely slow process of eyelash regeneration and only need an elevator every 8-10 weeks.

Can my client wear mascara?2024-10-21T20:48:51+01:00

Absolutely!!! You can choose to wear Elleevate Mascara immediately after your lash elevator (and remove it at night with Belma Makeup Remover) or wait until after the first 24 hours and then apply regular mascara. Remember, mascaras should be replaced every 3 months to prevent bacterial growth and infections to your lashes/eye.

What can I do if my client’s lashes are overprocessed and damage occurs?2024-10-21T20:48:37+01:00

You can relax the lashes to reduce the curl and straighten the lashes again. In addition, you could offer Elleeplex as a conditioning and nourishing lotion for your client’s lashes. That will help support the lashes and provide much-needed nutrition to repair and regrow into healthy lashes.

What can I do if the lashes have changed direction after 24 hours?2024-10-21T20:48:23+01:00

There are three points to consider: First, your client may not have followed aftercare and exposed her lashes to hot water, steam, shampoos, cleansers, eye creams or serums within the first 24 hours. Second, your product was not rinsed off well enough when it was removed. Third, your lash elevator was not dried well enough during the appointment to show you the full results of the elevator. Because the lashes are wet after the treatment, they are pushed down by the weight of the water on them. Once they dry, you will only see the results of this. Be sure to dry your client’s lashes thoroughly before she leaves.

Can I remove extensions and elevator lashes in the same treatment for my client who already has eyelash extensions?2024-10-21T20:48:08+01:00

The short answer is no – while we have tested this and gotten great results, we have only tested this with the Elleebana range for lash extensions and not every range for lash extensions (e.g. glue, remover, primer) is the same. We also cannot determine the results of this, as many lash extension technicians may not place lash extensions safely (with correct insulation or inadequate control of the adhesive, overloading the lash line). If a client has unsafe eyelash extensions installed, there is a good chance that their natural lashes will be damaged, and lifting damaged lashes can also cause breakage. For this reason, we must say that treatment can only be performed after the removal of eyelash extensions, based on an individual assessment of eyelash health and with careful judgment.

My client is allergic to eyelash extension glue. Can I get her an eyelash elevator?2024-10-21T20:47:32+01:00

Most reactions to eyelash extension adhesives are caused by skin contact and an accumulation of exposure to cyanoacrylate (the ingredient found in all eyelash extension adhesives). Elleebana’s Eyelash Lift products and adhesives do not contain cyanoacrylate, so the chance of a reaction to the eyelash elevator will be minimal, but a patch test is the best way to determine if a client may have sensitivities.

What if the other eye is not lifted the same way or not as much?2024-10-21T20:47:12+01:00

It is possible that some clients may have a stronger direction of hair follicles on one eye. If this is the case, you may need to note this on the client’s chart and compensate for this when they visit by allowing the stronger eye to take longer. Eyelash lifting can be affected in as little as 30 seconds. Therefore, you need to be very specific with the timing. If you have not placed the lashes symmetrically on the rods/shields so that both eyes are the same and complementary, this will become apparent when the rods/shields are removed and the lashes are dry. Taking a picture of your client’s eyes before you begin the lifting process and referring to the location of their iris once the rod/shield is on can help with eyelash placement. Be careful when using your eyelash lifting glue. This product can create a barrier between the lash and the elevator or fixation lotion. The glue has a curing time that allows you to place the lashes on the silicone rods/pads, but sometimes the glue can harden before all your lashes are glued. You can use a small amount more glue.

What if the other eye is not lifted the same way or not as much?2024-10-21T20:46:54+01:00

It is possible that some clients have a stronger direction of hair follicles on one eye. What can I do if my client’s lashes are not lifted enough?2024-10-21T20:46:35+01:00

Check the product’s expiration date and the location where the product is stored. It is also important to check the ethnicity of your client’s background; perhaps the strength or genetic structure of their hair means they need a longer processing time. Another thing to consider is the consistent placement of the lotion. The coating should have a thick, milky consistency that covers each lash evenly and goes up to 3/4 of the lash length; an uneven solution may result in an uneven elevator.

Is lash lifting harmful to lashes?2024-10-21T20:43:52+01:00

The chemical process of breaking the disulfide compounds within the eyelash can be harmful to the eyelashes if not done correctly. If the time the lotion is left on the eyelashes is too long, the compounds may either not re-form well enough or break to the point of over-processing. Applying the lotion to the ends of the lashes (which is not the area where we want the reorientation of the eyelash to take place) can also cause damage to the lashes. The addition of lanolin in the lifting lotion provides moisture and nourishment to the lash while breaking the connections to soften and support the hair.

FAQ Browlift

When should I re-book my client for a browlift?2024-10-21T20:56:17+01:00

Generally, we say that a lamination should stay with clients for up to 6 – 8 weeks or longer – but the growth cycle of eyebrows must be taken into account and often eyebrows will take longer to regrow than eyelash clients. If you notice that your client has a lot of new hair growth, you can show this to them and recommend that they reschedule their next lamination earlier than 6 weeks – perhaps 4 weeks would be appropriate. Other clients may experience an extremely slow process of eyebrow regrowth and only need a lamination every 8 – 10 weeks.

Can my client wear eyebrow makeup?2024-10-21T20:56:06+01:00

Absolutely – however, it is recommended to avoid eyebrow makeup for several days after the eyebrow lamination service is completed. If you have dyed their eyebrows, not much more is needed as they will not wash or rinse for the first 24-48 hours and their brows will look great. It is fine to use only Elleebana Precision Brow Series pencils after treatment for a minor touch-up to fill in any minor imperfections. After that initial period, using a brow makeup product such as Elleebana Precision Brow Series is a fine tip and has a nice waxy finish to create both a shadowed blended finish and a defined tousled top line that complements the laminated look.

What should I do if the browlift has gone away after dyeing?2024-10-21T20:55:42+01:00

Using any brand of eyebrow dye other than Elleeplex Profusion eyelash and eyebrow dye in combination with the Elleeplex oxidant may result in eyebrow lamina failure.

Can you fix unevenly lifted eyebrows?2024-10-21T20:55:26+01:00

It is possible that some clients may have a stronger follicle direction on one eyebrow. If this is the case, you should note this on the client chart and take this into account when they visit by treating the stronger eyebrow longer.

What can I do if my client’s eyebrows are not sufficiently lifted?2024-10-21T20:55:11+01:00

There are a few things to consider: First, check the product’s expiration date and see if the product has been stored correctly. Second, check the ethnicity of your client’s background, perhaps the strength or genetic structure of the hair means they need a longer processing time. Third, ensure consistent placement of the lotion and the right amount of stretch applied to the brow hairs.

What can I do if my client’s eyebrows have been overdone and damage occurs?2024-10-21T20:54:54+01:00

You could offer Elleeplex aftercare as a conditioning and nourishing lotion for your client’s eyebrows that they can apply daily to help not only with nourishment, but also with styling, to support the brows and provide much-needed nourishment to help them grow back healthy.

My client is allergic to eyelash and eyebrow dye – Can she get a browlift?2024-10-21T20:54:37+01:00

The ingredients likely to cause allergies with an eyelash or brow dye are not the same ingredients found in a lamination product, so performing a brow lamination is safe as long as it is not followed by a brow dye. For all clients who have expressed sensitivities from previous treatments, it is best to check that they have had an ingredient allergy test performed by a dermatologist or allergist. There may be more than one ingredient to which they are sensitive and, of course, performing a patch test is mandatory.

Is brow lamination harmful to brows?2024-10-21T20:54:07+01:00

The chemical process of breaking the disulfide bonds within the eyebrow hairs is harmful to the hair if not done correctly. This means that the result of the treatment or the condition of the client’s eyebrows is largely determined by the user of the products. Overprocessing of the eyebrows means that the bonds either cannot be reformed well enough or are broken to the point where they become overprocessed. The addition of Elleeplex ReGen Next Gen combined with our unique brow lift formula in the brow lift lotion provides moisture, nourishment and support to the brow hair while breaking the bonds to soften and support the hair.

FAQ Brow Henna

How soon after a hennabrow treatment can I color over a client’s eyebrow with a darker henna color?2024-10-21T20:58:58+01:00

You can immediately apply a darker color over the top. Elleebana Brow henna is customizable and has a wide range of colors, from Black to a very light Blonde, so you can mix many of the colors together, but you can also apply another layer over the top if you feel you want a darker result.

Does Elleebana Henna contain PPD?2024-10-21T20:58:46+01:00

Yes, most henna for eyebrows contains a very small amount of P-Aminophenol, Phenylenediamine or Diamino-phenoxyethanol, and some people may be sensitive to these ingredients. Their purpose is to give the henna a faster processing time, neutralize heat and give a longer-lasting result. Without these ingredients, they would not process fast enough and it would not make sense to offer this as a beauty treatment in a salon. The service would take too long and the results would not be sufficient.

Can I dye eyelashes with henna?2024-10-21T20:58:33+01:00

No, do not use Elleebana Brow Henna to dye eyelashes. Please use professional eyelash dye products for this procedure.

How long does it take for the true color to emerge?2024-10-21T20:58:19+01:00

For many clients, the color is perfect immediately after the treatment, however, if there is some heat, it may cool within 10 minutes and for some clients it may take an hour or two. It depends on the colors used and the base color of the client’s hair.

If my client doesn’t want heat, how long can I leave a dark color on without it getting too dark? v2024-10-21T20:58:03+01:00

This will always depend on the base color of the hair you are working on, the best thing you can do is to do as many different variations of skin tests on yourself as possible so you become familiar with the color ratios and how dark they get on the skin and hair. Generally, henna cools down quickly after it is applied if it is hot on some clients. You can apply some brow powder if necessary to neutralize the heat in the meantime. Some clients are not affected by heat with henna.

If my client always uses spray tan, how can I prevent it from affecting the color?2024-10-21T20:57:47+01:00

If spraytan is in the skin cells, there is a chance that it will cause a yellow or green tint on the skin around the eyebrow hairs. It is always best if your clients avoid spraytan two weeks before eyebrow henna application.

What are the most popular mixing ratios? Can I mix henna colors?2024-10-21T20:57:32+01:00

There are many mixing ratios you can use with Elleebana Henna, that’s what we love about it, you can come up with almost any color combination and customize it to your clients’ needs. Here are some simple examples to create more of an ash tone:

  • Ash blonde – 10% black and 90% blonde
  • Ash light brown – 10% black and 90% light brown
  • Ash natural brown – (10% black or 10% dark brown) and 90% natural brown

Adding black or dark brown to your mix will really help achieve longer-lasting results and neutralize heat. It will always depend on the base color of your clients’ hair. Elleebana offers some really light colors for those clients who just want a subtle shade for the hair and don’t want a henna imprint.

The henna leaves a yellow haze around the eyebrow area, why is this?2024-10-21T20:57:14+01:00

Skin care, moisturizers, sunscreen, spray tan can take a few days to leave the skin cells and these are usually the culprits for these problems. You should cleanse the skin as much as possible to increase your chances of getting a better henna impression and longer lasting results on the hair.
