If you’re diving into the world of Lash Lifting and you’re completely new, the choice of products can be incredibly overwhelming. From lotions to a confusing array of shields and glues! What should you choose, and what are the differences between the various products?
In this blog, we’re going to address an important topic to provide some clarity about the different shields that Elleebana offers in its collection and the differences between them.
Elleebana Flex Rods:
These OG shields have been a trusted staple in the Elleebana Lash Lift system for many years and a right-hand tool for many salons during this beautiful treatment. The rods started out as simple orange sticks and have since evolved into anatomical shields made of ultra-soft silicone, which (in most cases) don’t require any glue on the underside! Their anatomical shape allows them to fit comfortably around the eye, making application much easier. If you’re still using the ‘old’ basic rods, it’s time to make the switch to Flex Rods!
As you probably know, a shield is a crucial component of a successful Lash Lift—the natural position of the lashes is adjusted to match the shape of the chosen shield.
The Flex Rods fall into the category of Round Shields, which allow you to create a beautiful C curl.
Elleebana Flex Shields:
These beautiful shields have been on the market for quite some time now and are the second addition to Elleebana’s shield range. They were initially introduced as a firmer version known as the Elleebana Extreme Shields. So, if you’re looking for those and can’t seem to find them… you’re actually looking for the Elleebana Flex Shields!
The Elleebana Extreme Shields have been replaced by the Elleebana Flex Shields. These shields are now also made from ultra-soft silicone and designed in an anatomical shape. Just like the Flex Rods, they are created to fit perfectly around the eye and can, in most cases, be used without any glue on the underside.
The Flex Shields can’t be classified into just one specific category, as the shape of the shield changes depending on its size. However, across all sizes, these shields provide a lift and create an L curl. Thanks to the added “height” in the larger sizes, these shields—unlike many other L curl shields—are actually suitable for use on longer lashes.
Understanding how a lash is lifted makes it important to recognize the differences between shield shapes and to be able to visualize how the lashes will look after the lift. To help you with this, we’ve cut the shields in half, allowing you to clearly see their actual shape and better imagine how the lashes will be lifted during the Lash Lift.
What makes the new Flex Collection so good?!
Because the shields are made of ultra-soft silicone and designed in an anatomical shape, the shield easily fits onto the eye. It doesn’t constantly pop loose in the corners, allowing for a quicker application time.
Not using glue under the shields also has many advantages. First of all, it saves a lot of time, but most importantly, it prevents possible irritation on the eyelid. Additionally, cleaning the eyes after a Lash Lift becomes much easier since the eyelids aren’t covered in glue residue.
Lastly, a major advantage of soft silicone is that the lashes adhere more easily to the shields, whether you use glue balm or regular glue.
Over the coming weeks, Elleebana Netherlands/Belgium/Luxembourg will be launching the newest Elleebana shield—a shield shape we’ve been eagerly anticipating and are finally excited to share with you: the Elleebana Hybrid Shield! In the next blog, leading up to the launch, we’ll introduce this shield and explain exactly what makes it a must-have addition to your collection!
